New Recruit Ch. 12

Austin slammed his bedroom door and hastily made way to his bed. He proceeded to lay down and scream into his pillow.

“Why didn’t she tell me??” He angrily thought.

“He is the one your majesty. I can feel it.”

Austin quickly raised his head and scanned the room.

“Shush Rosa!”

“Yes your majesty...”

“Who-o-o-o-o-o are you?” Austin stammered.

“Why we are your people oh Faerie god.”

“Why can’t I see you?”

A small majestic women flew up to Austin.  “Only you can understand the words we say. We are at your beck and call my God. For you are what saved us from the slavery on our old world. We will do anything you say.”

A small smile crept on to Austin’s face as his mind raced with the possibilities.

Alisha walked outside quietly. Her favorite dark green scarf was wrapped tightly around her neck and thrashed about as the wind blew heavily. The snow fell down like clumps of cotton. The night sky was covered by dark gray clouds. Even as she entered the dark woods, she knew the path by heart.

Deep in the woods she stood in front of tall white oak tree. Her shamrock green eyes watered as she traced the words engraved in the tree with her index finger.

‘K & A BFF’s 4EVR’

She cried softly into her arm as the snow started to come down more heavily. 

‘They don’t think I remember. That I don’t remember the great times we had. How you changed my heart and touched my soul deeply.’

She rested her head on the tree. ‘I miss the days we laughed. The pranks we pulled on each other.’

‘But what I miss most of all.’ Alisha looked up and the snow melted when it touched her warm face. Tears slowly made their way down her neck.

‘Is the smiles we shared.’

Mickey paced in the meeting room. 'I shouldn’t have signed that contract...'

Donald was thumping his fingers with an annoyed look across his face. Hades was gritting his teeth with his fists banged on the wall.

Meghan was sitting at the table awkwardly.

“When is he getting here?” Minnie asked impatiently.

Mickey glanced at the clock. “He should have been here fifteen minutes ago.”

Hades chuckled. “He is too cowardly.”

“Is that what you really think of me Hades?”

Everyone turned their heads to see.

Jafar was standing in the doorway.

The cold was nipping at my skin. I was curled up on the frozen ground shivering from the cold. ‘Get up you fool. Maybe there is something to help warm you up near by.’ I thought. I slowly stood up and gripped myself tightly. My teeth chattered loudly as walked north. The full moon was my only light source.

Minutes passed and I entered a ghost town. It looked beaten down and worn out. I walked down the main road. I cursed out loud from the bone chilling cold. ‘It doesn’t help that I only have my casual clothes.’ I looked down at my feet. ‘I don’t even have shoes on my damn feet!’ I tried to ignite my hands with a blaze but it wasn’t working. I sighed and looked up at the moon helplessly. My body plumped down on the ground and rubbed my hands on my feet to warm them up.

“Kelsea. Your time is up.”

My heart dropped and panic started to seize over my body. I shook my head. ‘No. I am NOT gonna be a pansy right now.’ I stood up and made flames appear in my hands. ‘Oh NOW you work.’

“Fighting me would be useless and a waste of your energy.”

I took a deep breath for I knew it was true. The flames that engulfed my hands dimmed down to nothing. A tear escaped my eye and slowly moved along my cheek bone. “What do you want?”

“Well you still owe me some souls.”

“...I thought-”

“I need five more.”

I cursed out loud. "Great, just great."

I heard a cracked chuckle. “There is one way to pay me back with only one soul.”

"What?" I quickly asked.

“You must kill Maleficent.”
